True Vision

films that make a difference

Katie Rice

Katie graduated from Leeds Uni in 2008 with a degree in History and Philosophy (recently declared by the metro as the most unemployable degree possible) at a time of highest graduate unemployment for over a decade - things were looking bright!

During the holidays at University Katie temped for various production companies with stints at Teachers’ TV, Eyeworks and Animal Rescue for BBC. With the graduate job market pretty dire she worked at her local court for 8 months and then decided to up sticks and go travelling for 6 months across South East Asia and South India; definitely the best decision made!

On return she embarked on a two-month internship with the lovely Documentary Filmmakers’ Group and then got shortlisted to the final six for a research role on the Channel 4 Production Trainee Scheme.

With a stroke of luck True Vision were kind enough to give her her first research gig on ‘Poor Kids’ and she has since refused to leave.
